The life and times of Ratko Mladic - World - CBC News

The life and times of Ratko Mladic - World - CBC News

This atrocity is something, we, as human beings, should never forget.  As we do not forget the Holocaust, we also should not forget what was done to the Muslims in the former Yugoslavia.  Not to mention the many atrocities done on the African continent just to name a few.

Why should we remember this?

If we don't learn from past experiences and change our ways, we are doomed to repeat horrors like the above.

In my opinion, each individual has the opportunity to make their little corner of the world a better place.  It does not need to cost any money - sometimes a smile will brighten somebody else's day.

Giving a hand of help to a friend, a ride to a doctor's appointment, a listening ear, a smile to a passerby on the street - all these things create happiness in others, thus enriching them emotionally but also giving the donor such a sense of well being.

Imagine if each person on this planet stepped out of their own little space and spread a little kindness - what a ripple effect that would cause!

I challenge you, my dear reader, to step outside of yourself and give it a try!

Thanks for reading my blog and come back again when you have the time.  Have a wonderful day!

An old Sunday School song says it all.  "Brighten the corner where you are."
